Matting, Framing, Packaging

 

After you cut your mat, both backing and window mat, you hinge the artwork to the window mat with archival tape 

You also hinge the window mat to the backing mat with archival tape

 

Matted piece as such

 

place matted piece on psyche glass and then set that inside your frame. Place foam board behind that to help relive stress from the frame

 

Then you place eye screws about 1/3 of the way down on the frame

 

then loop your wire through the 2 eye screws tightly and your piece is ready to hang

Packaging you need to be sure to protect the corners of the frame since this is the weakest area of the frame

 

wrap up snugly with bottle wrap

 

the the piece shouldn't have much wiggle room in it's box

I choose this painting from the collection because the saturation of the colors really commuicate the danger of the storm as well as set the mood of the painting. Also there's a nice contrast between the mid ground of the painting and the sea and clouds above which frames the paints very well.
